Sunday afternoon was the tourist thing with a visit to Andy Griffith's childhood home.....
A picture of Andy, Opie, Dear Hubby and me.....
And a picture of Gomer's old stomping ground before he joined the Marines.....
On the way home, we stopped at antique malls in Jonesville, Mt. Airy and Statesville. Among other things, I found three more enamel pots to add to the collection.
The big pot is huge. It's over 12" tall where the rest of them average only about 7"-8". The one in the middle is a creamer. Not a coffee pot but Dear Hubby thought it ought to go with the collection as well as the little cup. He said, "What's a coffee pot collection without the coffee cup?". Go figure.
I think I may have to move the Clorox bottle and add the enamel pots to the top shelf!
Blessings, Cathi

This looks like such a wonderful trip! My husband and I loved watching The Andy Griffith show...such a wonderfully simple time back then!
I love your enamelware...very nice!
love your enamelware! Haven't had much luck finding any..
What a great get-a-way. I do love The Andy Griffith show - I think it gets better as the years go on *s*
We considered going tomorrow but after out all day and my not being completely well...felt we would wait until Fall when the leaves start turning and weather a wee bit cooler. I'll be sure to use your blog for reference!
Hi Cathi!
Sure hope you can make it to ShopKeeper Sunday!! It would be great to meet you!

Now I think we need to go back to Mt. Airy to see those the old gas station and Andy's house. We didn't even know those were around. We have been in the store in Statesville, very nice. We actually lived there once.
Ok now I'm jealous - I really want to go to Mt. Airy. I was glad when they relocated the statues from Raleigh to Mt. Airy. Wonderful finds at the antique mall. Right now I'm going to have some pop and head on down to Thelma Lou's. No actually I'm going to the Target, but if I run into the darlings I'll let you know!
OMG YOU collect enamel pots....so do I! I thought I was the only one!! I have so many now that I have become more selective. They have to be a colour that I don't have, they have to be old and they have to be under $2! I must have over 20 now but it's fun to continue looking....
How long have you been collecting? Do you collect a certain colour or are you like me-trying to find one of every colour?
Take care,
Paulette
