Choo Choo .....

My father was one of the biggest model railroad enthusiasts that I had ever heard of. He used to love to get "caught" at railroad crossings so he could watch the trains go by. And the more the better. He was a civil/structural engineer by trade. We lived in NW Philadelphia suburbs and he worked in downtown. Mom would drive him to the train station in the morning so he could take the Reading down to work. Me, being the innocent little tike that I was, thought he was a train engineer!

Here is a picture of part of the first train set that he ever received. It's part of a Lionel set that he got from Santa one year. My brothers and sister have just as many! I just put them up on a peg rail in the living room. I think I need to make some stitcheries to hang on the wall behind them.

Blessings, Cathi

The train looks great on the peg shelf.
Every time you look at it, it will remind you of your Dad!
Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This looks very similar to a set that we had as children. I can remember my dad setting it up and then sitting on the floor and playing trains with us. It is a nice reminder to you of your dad and I think its great you have it on display. For starters, I think you should work in a picture of your dad as a child to hang there with the train - just a thought, but what a lovely memory you have.

Thanks for visiting. Yes, I think that we can both be SAHM even if our children are gone:)
You noticed my Longaberger pottery and I noticed your white feather tree. I just put my bunnies and pink tinsel on my for Easter. I'll share photos at some point next week (hopefully).

Guess what they're bring back the train?! It'll run from Reading to Phila. again...

BTW - Does anyone know how to schedule a post? Meaning if I write one today, how can I schedule it to post on say Saturday?

Thanks!
