I Heart Stitchin Friends . . . . .

Teresa over at Stitchin' Friends is the leader, mentor, teacher of a group called . . . . Stitchin' Friends.  Two Saturdays ago, Teresa taught our group to take 169 tiny squares and put them together to make one small block (6-1/2" square).

At our May meeting, she was going to show us how to put it together to make a cute wall hanging.

(Taken from Teresa's blog without her permission)

I was so obsessed with finishing the heart block when I got home, that I just kept going.  Not Teresa's pattern and I hope she forgives me for going out of the box.  I was just having so much fun.  It still needs to be quilted ....... I know, you aren't surprised.

It's not that I didn't like Teresa's.......I loved it.  But I wanted to put some applique on mine.  The words are ironed on fabric, the border applique is wool applique.   Hope you like it, Teresa!

My Saturday with my Stitchin' Friends.....

This past Saturday was our monthly group meeting with my "Stitchin' Friends" hosted by Teresa of ....what else....Stitchin' Friends!

This month, Teresa taught a new-to-us technique from Helen at Hugs 'n Kisses. It was great fun.

After this step, we are supposed to outline all the coloring with embroidery but I like the black outline so much, I may leave it.

I happened to trace my pattern with a black pigma pen with every intention of stitching it. What do YOU think?

2nd Finish! I'm on a roll! .....

Another finish already. Two in one month!

Teresa at Stitchin' Friends had this cute little table runner for our monthly group meeting. And I don't mean she had it like she planned the meeting. No! Miss Overacheiver had designed the pattern, bought the fabric, cut ALL the pieces (every single little one!) and had them in the cute little totes that she shows on her blog.

The meeting was the day before Mother's Day. I had my top all finished before Sunday night! I asked to be left alone for Mother's Day and they did! That's one of the main reasons that I finished it so quickly.

Here is a picture of just the top. While I love the colors and fabrics Teresa chose, the white was a little too white for me. So what's a person to do?

Tea dye it, of course. Here it is tea-dyed, quilted, binded, washed and dried. It's going as a gift to someone soon but I can't tell who.

I had it hanging on the clothesline like the first picture but about 10 minutes before I went out to take the picture, Computer Geek took out one end of the clothesline with Dear Hubby's truck. The truck is fine.
