Riddle me this, Batman.....

Why is it that the more expensive a hotel is, the less it offers? After getting to San Antonio, we checked into a luxury hotel right on the RiverWalk. It was right across the street from Dear Hubby's convention. Location couldn't have been better but I am still trying to figure out the "luxury" part. The room was the worst of the 4 different hotels we stayed in, no microwave, no refrigerator, limited tv channels (remember I was going to sit for three days and sew and watch whatever I wanted while Dear Hubby was in meetings), no free breakfast, and NO FREE internet. Internet was $14.00 a day! Needless to say we had no internet or email since we left Orange, Texas last Monday.

On the other hand, we stayed at 3 different Hampton Inns. Free breakfast, free internet, microwave and/or refrig in each room. The rooms were clean and newly remodeled. Did I mention 1/2 the price?

Anyway, we arrived home at 10:30 last night. I was at work by 7:30 this morning. I have major blogging to read and write.

But if anyone could answer my question......

Blessings, Cathi

Those 'luxury' hotels a most often frequented by business men and women on an expense account. The cost doesn't come from their pockets for internet access, breakfast, etc.
Hampton Inn and the others are used by regular folk who are looking for the best value for their dollar. They look for ways to keep you happy and get you to come back again and again.

Hi Cathi,
I've found that to be true at the fancy hotels that are located in cities. The fancy, more expensive hotels that are in resort areas give you more bang for your buck because it's a different clientele We try to stay at hotels out of the city just because of this very reason. Not fair for us ordinary people, but it's how it is!

Hey Cathi! I was in San Antonio in March and stayed at a Holiday Inn and I have to say as far as the room goes, it was very nice. We were on the Riverwalk but could only look out the window since there was no balcony. No free breakfast but the price was reasonable and the food was very good. I didn't have to pay for the room so I can't say how much it costs. Wish your stay had been better.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! We may have to meet sometime!!
